How do I schedule a virtual (video or phone) coaching appointment?
Use our online portal to schedule a coaching session with Tim, Jennifer, or Sharon. You can book your appointment online at any time. (If you have any questions, you are free to contact us. Coaching appointments are only accepted via online scheduling at this time.)
What's the cost? When do I pay?
Costs vary from $45-$90 depending on the coach you choose and the length of your session. See price breakdown in the "Which Coach is right for you?" section of this page. Note: Summer Rate discounts are now in effect for every coaching appointment through July 2019.
You will not be billed until the appointment and you can cancel online with at least 24-hour notification.
How do I join in on a coaching session?
Once you have scheduled a coaching appointment, you will receive email confirmation and instructions for your phone or video appointment.
If you scheduled a phone appointment, you will receive an email confirmation with instructions reminding you to call into your coach's conference number at the scheduled time. If you are the first to call in, you will hear hold music until your counselor arrives. (If someone else is joining you in the call, you will get the best quality if each of you calls into the same number from a different phone.)
Use the provided link to open your video connections using your computer or mobile device.
If you scheduled a video appointment, an email confirmation will be sent to you with a link for logging in to the video conference at the appointment time. (If you have opted in to receive email reminders, you'll be sent the link again 24 hours in advance.)
As long as you have a good internet connection, you can use your computer, tablet, or smartphone to join the video session. Video sessions are secure and confidential (HIPPA compliant).
For more info, download the Telehealth Guide for Video Sessions.
Are there any location limitations?
For video sessions: As long as you have an good internet connection, you can join a video session using most browsers or an app (available for iPhone & Android).
For phone sessions: We use a phone conferencing service with access numbers available in many countries throughout the world. Please be aware that all sessions are conducted in English.
Can my spouse/partner join in on the coaching session?
For video sessions: You both will need to join the session using a video-enabled device (phone, tablet, or computer). Most couples share the same device, but each may join the video session using separate devices if you are using a tablet or computer (since a phone screen is likely not large enough to show all participants).
For phone sessions: A second person can join the session by calling into the conference phone number (emailed to you in the appointment confirmation). You will get the best call quality if each person calls into the number from a different phone.
NOTE: Sharon only coaches individual clients. Tim and Jennifer coach individuals and couples.
Is coaching the same as counseling?
Our coaches bring their counseling expertise into the process, so there are definitely similarities, but there are differences, too. For more information, view this page: The Difference Between Counseling & Coaching.
How often will I schedule a session?
You are in complete control of how often and for how long you schedule a session. Maybe you only need a single conversation to gain some expert opinion, or maybe you want to schedule weekly appointments to help you through the next months of recovery.
Scheduling is completely up to you. You make use of the coaching service as long as it is helpful to you. You will never be pressured to do more than you want to do.
Can I cancel or reschedule my appointment? Will I get my money back?
You will be able to cancel or reschedule at any time up to 24-hours before your scheduled time. No charges will be made for cancellations made with at least 24-hour notification. Please Note: 1/2 the full session fee will be charged for cancellations made with less than 24-hour notice. (For new clients, the payment can be applied to a rescheduled appointment. For clients on scholarship, the penalty fee will not exceed their approved scholarship rate.)
Are the sessions secure?
We use a secure, HIPPA compliant service for our video calls. Phone calls are made using each coach's conference number and the conference room is "locked" once all participants are present on the call.
Is any special software or equipment required?
Video sessions require a mobile device or computer with camera & voice capabilities. You can access the video session using your web browser. Android and iPhone phones can download the free Telehealth for Simple Practice app for an even better user experience.
I've got more questions. How can I be sure a Coach will be a good "fit" for us?
Feel free to contact us with any questions you have. We can schedule a free 15-minute consultation with any coach so you can find out more about their services. (Please note: consultations are meant to answer questions about coaching services provided or to find out more about the coaches, not to provide advice or counsel for your specific situation.)
