Four Resolution Ideas for Couples
Here are four activities that couples might agree to do in 2026. Pick the one that works for you!
Pick an activity that you will commit to doing together for this new year. The first one (a favorite annual suggestion!) can be done in addition to one of the other three, since it only requires a one-time effort.
#1: Send a Message to Your Future
Step 1 Go to FutureMe.org.
Step 2 Cut/paste the following text into “Letter” field on that page:
When you get this, remember to share it with your partner! (They should have one to share with you, too)
What is something you’re most looking forward to this year?
[your answer]
What is one change you’d like to see happen in your relationship?
[your answer]
What do you want to say to the year-older version of yourself?
[your answer]
Step 3 Replace each [your answer] section with your response to the question. Be as specific and thorough as you can.
Step 4: Choose the Deliver in 1 year option, select “Private,” enter your valid email address (I’ve been using FutureMe for many years and have never received spam), and click the “Send to the Future” button.
#2: Discuss a Daily Question

Use the 150 Questions for Couples download and take turns picking a question from the list each day that you both will answer. The questions include a lot of casual and fun options, but there are some serious and intimate ones, too. Do them all!
It will help if you agree to do this the same time every day (over coffee, via text, or at bedtime?).
#3: Build a Walk & Talk Habit
Many couples find it easier to have connecting conversations while they’re out on a walk. Try to go for a walk at least once a week, maybe more, and use the time to check in with each other. Here are some ideas of what you can include in your conversations:
Share something challenging or interesting you’ve experienced?
Talk about a chapter of a book you’ve both been reading.
Use the questions from suggestion #2 above.
Talk about one thing you’re grateful for.
Name one specific thing you appreciate about your partner based on what’s happened since your last walk.
#4: Start Sharing Your Daily T.E.A.
This is one of the extra exercises provided in the Building Us course.
Download the instructions below to help you build a daily habit of connecting with each other in three simple ways (TEA). At least once a day, you should: TOUCH, EXPLORE, and ADMIRE
