SURVEY: Where do you feel stuck?

Examples of where some people get stuck in the affair healing process:

  • Unresolved uncertainty about whether or not my partner cheated on me.

  • Undecided about what to disclose about my infidelity.

  • Wanting or seeking vengeance.

  • Who to tell or not tell about the infidelity.

  • How to deal with our children.

  • Not believing their story (or your partner not believing you).

  • Can’t stop asking questions or investigating.

  • Lack of insight into WHY it happened.

  • Trouble choosing between the marriage partner and the affair partner.

  • Ongoing emotional connection to the affair partner (even if there is no contact).

  • Ongoing dishonesty.

  • Constant anger or withdrawal.

  • Inability to forgive (or be forgiven).

  • Inability to trust (or be trusted).

  • Lack of empathy or remorse.

  • No clear vision for personal change.

  • No clear vision for the future of our relationship.

  • No agreement on relationship boundaries or expectations.

  • Inability to know or meet each other’s needs.

  • Poor communication or conflict resolution.

  • Sexual disconnection.

  • Unresolved pre-existing relationship problems.
