Group Support: Women Recovering from a Husband's Affair(s)
The one thing that participants in this group have in common is that they experienced (or are experiencing) affair betrayal by a spouse/partner. Some participants may be in early stages of recovery while others have been dealing with these issues for months or years. Some marriages have not survived; some marriages are recovering and thriving; the outcome of others is still uncertain.
To inquire about joining this group, please call the office at (407) 796-8070 or contact Tim Tedder using the form on the right side of this page.
GROUP DETAILS
- Meeting Time: Every Monday night (except certain holiday weeks) from 7:15 to 8:45 PM.
- Size: Limited to no more than 8 participants in a group.
- Location: Charis Counseling Center, Baldwin Park, Orlando.
- Membership: This group is voluntary, but limited to women who are clients at Charis Counseling Center. Membership is open-ended which means you may quit at anytime and new members can join as space is available. You can decide each month.
- Cost: $180/month. This qualifies you for participation in 4 sessions (1.5 hours each; 6 hrs total), but it is a monthly fee with no refunds for weeks you do not attend. There will be no increase in fee for months with 5 Mondays/meetings. In cases where the group decides to cancel certain meeting dates (holiday weeks, for example) and this cancellation results in fewer than 4 sessions for that month, the monthly fee will be adjusted accordingly ($45/meeting). Some scholarships may be available upon request.
EXPECTATIONS for PARTICIPATION
- Confidentiality: Participants will be asked to sign a confidentiality agreement. Each group member will be asked to maintain that same level of confidentiality that is required by the therapist. What is shared in the group stays in the group.
- Group Facilitation: In most cases, Tim Tedder will be acting as Group Facilitator. Much of what happens in this group will depend on the group's commitment to openness, honesty, and respect. The facilitator will focus on helping move the grou ptoward these goals. There may be occassions when another therapist joins Tim or substitutes for him.
- Attendance: Group members will be asked to make participation a priority in their schedule. Because of the level of intimate sharing that will be part of this group, it will be very difficult to build and maintain strong group dynamics if members are not consistently present. If you are regularly missing meetings, you will find it more difficult to establish strong connections and "keep up" with group experiences.
- Children & Guests: Because of the nature of this group, no one will be allowed to be present except group members. No visitors. You will need to make your own arrangements for childcare, if needed.
